Preliminary exercise: The chase

1) Write a 100 word statement of intent explaining what you are going to make for your preliminary exercise.
A girl and her friend are sitting in a park casually. A sudden phone ring calls the main girl in this scene. The person on the call has said to the girl to move countries with no explanation and tells her to tell no one. They immediately end the call and the girl tells her friend. She later on that day gets another call and she goes to a room to hide and answers. She gets told I told you to not tell anyone. The girl gets scared and shocked to how this person or creature has known this information or even got her number. She ends up meeting her friend again and tells her it was a prank call and nothing happened. The girl is now scared to leave her house but even when she is home alone she feels like she's being watched and she couldn't hide from it. After 2 days the girl finally comes out of her house and goes to the shops near her house. she senses someone following her aware of what happened 2 days ago. she quickly rushes to the shops but then a guy is running behind her. it was too late.

2) Write a script for your preliminary exercise on your blog. This needs to include stage directions AND dialogue. To see how a TV drama script is presented

3) Casting: Who will be in your preliminary exercise scene?
2 friends hanging out, a mysterious person on the phone call

4) Plan your locations: Where you will film your preliminary exercise?
starts off at the park during daytime, shifts to where the girl tries to hide and hide whats going on from her friend after she told her what happened when she wasn't supposed to.

5) Write your shot list: every shot you plan to film. This needs to be far MORE shots than you will actually use in the final edited version - plan extra angles, close-ups, long shots and more.
- a 360 of the park, then close up to the characters in the park.
- super close up of the phone
- a mid close up to the faces and reactions
