Connotations
The dark lighting suggests that the scene might be a jump scare or scary. The setting in the beginning was in an elevator where it had only few lights on. This creates an eerie setting. A man, whom was dressed as a doctor, showed up running to the elevator and rapidly pressing the button to close the doors.
Denotations
There was a man, dressed as a doctor, running at the beginning into an elevator. This makes us question why is he running? Who is he running from? What is he running for? This makes the audience intrigued to finding out what is going on. After the man got into the elevator as soon as the doors were closing, we can hear a very supernatural sound coming from above the man. This suggests that there might be a creepy monster or something weird and scary is going to happen next. When the elevators started to close, the scene changed swiftly and this is because they wanted to end the last scene in a way to make the audience interested in what they are seeing.
Audience
The audience might be very fascinated during this scene. This is because the show is giving many questionable scenes which makes it seem enjoyable and interesting to find out about the rest. Audiences who enjoy horror type of shows or movies are most likely to enjoy these jumpscares and many more.
